REMedy
About the REMEDY Project
REMedy (Relief & Empowerment through Mindfulness for enhancing pain and sleep in young people with sickle cell disease) is a study that tests whether mindfulness can help adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease manage pain and sleep more effectively.
Many young people with sickle cell disease experience pain and sleep problems that interfere with daily life, school, work, and overall well-being. REMedy explores whether mindfulness practices such as guided relaxation, breathing, and awareness exercises can offer practical and accessible ways to improve pain and sleep. We are working together with the community to make sure the app is helpful, easy to use, and meaningful.
We are inviting participants to join in two different phases of the project:
Group A: Feedback Sessions
Participants will join focus groups and one-on-one interviews to share their thoughts and feedback about the app.
Group B: App Testing
After the feedback sessions are complete, a new group of participants will test the app by using it for 8 weeks.
